Cookies are small files your browser saves to remember a few things between one visit and the next. Here are the ones we use, in plain language.
Technical cookies (always on)
These make the site work. You can’t disable them because without them the blog won’t function.
- Age confirmation — remembers that you already confirmed you are over 18.
- Cookie choice — stores what you selected on the banner.
- WordPress session — active only if you are a logged-in editor.
- Cache — speeds up page loading.
- Comments — if you leave a comment and tick “remember me”, we save your name and email for next time.
Statistics cookies (you can refuse)
We use Google Analytics to understand which articles people like most and how to improve the site. It is completely anonymous — we don’t know who you are, only that someone read something. If you’d rather not, you can refuse them from the banner shown on your first visit.
External services you see on the site
- Gravatar — only if a commenter has a Gravatar account, their avatar is loaded from Gravatar’s servers.
- Google Fonts — we use the Inter and Playfair Display fonts, loaded from Google’s servers.
What we do NOT use
To be transparent, you will not find on our site: Facebook/Instagram pixels, TikTok trackers, advertising retargeting, Hotjar, heatmaps, reCAPTCHA or Akismet. The social buttons in the footer are simple links, not widgets.
How to change your mind
If you change your mind about statistics cookies, just delete the site cookies from your browser. The next time you visit, we’ll ask you again via the banner.
